If the display connected to LaMetric Edge Box shows no image, a black screen, or a no-signal message, complete the checks below before escalating the unit for RMA review.


✅ Check Display Power and Input

  • Confirm that the display is powered on and the power LED is on.
  • Confirm that the display is set to the correct HDMI input used by Edge Box.

  • Test the display with a known-good HDMI source.


✅ Check the HDMI Cable and Ports

  • Confirm that the HDMI cable is fully seated on both ends: Edge Box and the display.

  • Inspect the HDMI cable and connectors for visible damage, bent pins, or a loose fit.

  • Test a known-good HDMI cable and a different HDMI input on the display.

  • Remove any HDMI adapters or extenders and test with a direct HDMI connection.


✅ Check the Power Adapter

  • Confirm that the approved Edge Box power adapter is securely connected.

  • Check that the power adapter LED is green.

  • If the power adapter LED is off, reconnect the adapter and test a different known-good power outlet.

  • If possible, connect the power adapter directly to a wall outlet and do not use a power strip, surge protector, or extension during troubleshooting.


✅ Check Edge Box Boot Status

  • Check that the Edge Box power button LED is green.

  • If the power adapter LED is green but the Edge Box power button LED is off, disconnect and reconnect power, then power on the unit again.

  • If both LEDs are green, continue with the HDMI, display, and reset checks.


✅ Perform a Basic Power Cycle

  • Turn off the display and disconnect power and HDMI from Edge Box.

  • Wait at least 60 seconds, then reconnect power and HDMI.

  • Turn on the display, select the correct HDMI input, and confirm that both LEDs are green.


✅ Check Power Status Before and After HDMI Connection

  • Disconnect all cables from Edge Box and connect only the power adapter.

  • Confirm that the power adapter LED and the Edge Box power button LED are green.

  • Wait at least 60 seconds, then connect the display via HDMI.

  • Check whether the image appears and whether both LEDs remain green.


✅ Test Edge Box with Another Display

  • Connect Edge Box to a known-good HDMI display.

  • Confirm whether video output appears on the second display.


✅ Perform Factory Reset

  • Perform a factory reset of Edge Box using the approved reset method.

  • Complete the initial setup again (if the same Display configure connectivity only) 

  • Confirm whether the issue remains after reset.


Escalation

If the issue remains after all checks above have been completed, escalate the case for support review.

Record the device serial number.

Provide photos of:

  • the power adapter
  • the power adapter LED status
  • the Edge Box power button LED status
  • the HDMI connection
  • the device serial label
  • the display showing the issue
  1. Confirm which troubleshooting steps were completed.
  2. Provide a short video of the issue, if available.
  3. Submit the case to support@lametric.com.
