I've noticed apps don't update automatically. How do you update them?
My own apps have to be uninstalled then reinstalled to get the latest version.
Others, for example the radio app, I see a small circle arrow with an X in it in the corner. What does this mean? It doesn't do anything when I tap on it. How can I update the radio app?

LaMetric updates apps automatically. It checks for updates every 4 hours. To foster update you need to open LaMetric Store from your smartphone.
Try to clear radio list and add new stations, afterwards please check if Radio app works.

The small x with the circle around it appears when you switch to "Auto Scroll apps" (see manual chapter 4.4) - it has nothing to do with updates.

Radio app is preinstalled application and can be updated only with firmware updates.
